Choosing an image
Canvas has a texture that softens fine detail, which suits most photos well. The image needs enough resolution for the size – a sharp photo from a modern phone can work at moderate sizes; small or heavily cropped images may look soft. See image resolution and DPI. Send the original file rather than a screenshot or WhatsApp-compressed copy.
Edges and wrapping
Canvas wraps around the frame, so part of the image ends up on the sides. You can choose to wrap the image (some of the picture goes around the edge), mirror the edges, or use a solid colour on the sides. Keep faces and important details away from the outer 40–50mm.
Price and timing
Canvas prices depend on size and show online for standard sizes; custom sizes are quoted. Stretching takes time, so canvas usually runs on Standard or Economy rather than Same-day. Browse photo and canvas prints.
How to order canvas printing: set up the item in the shop and the price updates as you change the options. Attach your artwork at checkout – or ask for design help, which is charged separately. Payment is by Yoco card payment or EFT, in full for orders under R5,000 and with a 65% deposit from R5,000 up. When it is ready, pick it up at our Rivonia shop on a weekday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, or have it couriered to you at a quoted cost.
