Menu types
- Laminated table menus – A4 or A3, wipeable, the standard for sit-down restaurants.
- Folded menus – A3 folded to A4 or A4 folded to DL for longer menus.
- Takeaway menus – A5 or DL flyers for counters and delivery bags, at flyer rates (A5 colour R1.90, A4 colour R4.00).
- Specials and drinks cards – A5 or A6 table cards.
- Event and wedding menus – one per place setting.
Practical tips
Lamination makes menus last far longer in a busy restaurant – read about lamination options. If your prices change often, print a smaller run more frequently, or keep prices on a separate insert. Check spellings of dishes and allergen notes carefully; it is easy to miss a mistake on a menu you have looked at a hundred times.
Artwork
Supply a PDF at final size with 3mm bleed. Use a font size customers can read in dim lighting – small grey text on a dark background is a common problem. Folded menus need panels set out in the right order; see folding options.
Lead times
Unlaminated paper menus qualify for Same-day if ordered, paid and print-ready by 09:00 on a weekday. Laminated menus add a finishing step; check the product page. For a planned menu change, Economy saves 10%. Browse marketing materials.
How to order menu printing: set up the item in the shop and the price updates as you change the options. Attach your artwork at checkout – or ask for design help, which is charged separately. Payment is by Yoco card payment or EFT, in full for orders under R5,000 and with a 65% deposit from R5,000 up. When it is ready, pick it up at our Rivonia shop on a weekday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, or have it couriered to you at a quoted cost.
